Yesterday after work I did 3 loads of laundry, changed my sheets (even though I changed them about 3 days ago), Cleaned mirrors, unclogged my sink drain, and tons of other things. I have also been spending a lot of time on Pineterst....
I think I might be a pro at procrastination.
I have 4 finals this week.
Monday- 8:30 Abnormal Psych
Wednesday- 2:00 Physical Disabilities
Thursday- 10:00 Stats and 11:30 Physiology
I am SO ready for this semester to be over!!

Well I should probably stop procrastinating and get to studying...  oh wait... I need to deep clean my carpet! :)

Am I insane?!

GENTLE AND LADYMEN!!!! I have one special announcement!! I have officially signed up for... wait for it... DRUM ROLL PLEASEEEEE.....

MY FIRST HALF MARATHON
(cue echo... MARATHON MARATHON marathon....)

People have asked if I am insane... the answer is... I do not think so. I have always wanted to do something bigger than running my 5ks that I run. Something to challenge myself and get me healthy. I will be running 13.1 miles (goal is to run 13.1 miles straight NO stopping). The race is April 29! I have 21 weeks to train. All training logs have been for 12 weeks so I think I am ahead of the game :)

I havent been able to start training yet since I got Bronchitis last week. Once my lungs recover and I am able to breathe without my chest hurting then I am good to go! I am hoping to start on Monday Dec 12. I will be able to be home and train with my mom while I am home for break. It will be great to get running on a daily basis and get in a routine. Over break I am going to make a recipe book to get dinners going. I am also going to try more smoothies and shakes. I am very excited! The race is in honor of the OKC Bombing. It is called the OKC Memorial Marathon. It will be great to be apart of something bigger than myself and get healthy while doing it! http://okcmarathon.com/
I can't wait to get the 13.1 sticker and put in on my car!

Hopefully one day I can run a full marathon so I can add 26.2 on there! Gotta start small though! As my daddy says...
"You have to eat an elephant one bite at a time"
So until then I am focusing on 13.1 miles and taking it one mile at a time :)

AND... to add to the craziness of running 13.1 miles...

I am going to compete in something called the Warrior Dash! It is April 21 in Roanoke, Texas.  The Warrior Dash is 3.3 miles and you compete in obstacles along the way. You go through waist deep water, go under a web of rope while crawling through mud, and tons of others. I am so exited about it. It will be a blast to compete in! Since I am already training for the Half I might as well add a little fun into the mix :)
Any age can compete in it! I think it will be an absolute blast!!!

I am so excited to start all of these life changing events! April will be a great and busy month! (Can't forget Nascar on April 14!!)
I appreciate all of the encouragement everyone has already given me. I cant wait to start to fully train on a daily basis so I can race to that finish line! I will keep everybody updated here on my blog along the way. :)

The little runner,
Katelyn Elizabeth

Daddy Daughter Date... Concert and Gambling!

These past 2 months have been insane. Absolutely insane. Finals are next week and I am ready for a break. I was able to go on a daddy daughter date to Thackerville, OK and see a concert with my daddy! I had an absolute BLAST!! I love spending time with him. We sat next to this cute couple who had two daughters and the wife kept raving at what a wonderful daddy he was for attending a concert with his daughter. At one point she leaned over to me and asked if he knew any of the songs. I responded back with " No. I don't think he does. He just came to the concert because I wanted to go. He might know a couple but that's it." She just looked at me and smiled. My dad is my best friend. I love doing things with him. I love our daddy daughter dates! They make great memories!!
Waiting for Josh Abbott to start!

Josh Abbott!!

After seeing Josh Abbott and Eric Church Daddy and I went to test our luck at the slot machines (Since the concert was at Winstar Casino) Dad gave me $20.00 and said go for it! haha We had a great time just trying our luck. We stayed out till about 1:00am and then I called it a night. I was exhausted! The next morning dad and I packed up and headed our separate ways until I come home for Christmas. It was a night I will never forget and memories with my daddy that will last a lifetime!
Here are a couple of my favorite songs from Josh Abbott and Eric Church. I totally advise anyone who loves country music to listen to them!
Josh Abbott- She's Like Texas

Josh Abbott- Oh Tonight

Eric Church- Homeboy

Eric Church- Carolina

Enjoy!

Friendship... Something to think about.

I find it amazing how friends come and go. No matter how hard you want a friendship to work or last a lifetime it is up to each party to contribute to the friendship. To me my friends are family and family is my life.
Even if we were close at one point and don't talk everyday if they call me in the middle of the night needing help no matter what I will be there.
There are only a few special ones that I know would do the same for me.
To me friendship is the family you choose. You have to choose to be around positive people to make your life, and thoughts positive as well. If you surround yourself with negativity and hateful people then you will not be able to see the beauty in simple things. Surrounding yourself with the people who make you smile, feel happy, and just down right thankful for their support and friendship is so important.
Getting older and surrounding myself with different types of people I have been able to step back and look at all the friendships I have. Seeing who is there for me no matter what, or seeing who is only there for me when it is convenient for them. It really makes me aware of the type of friend I want to be.

There are a couple quotes that I have heard over the last few weeks that made me think even more about friendship...
" Don't tell your problems to anyone...Just think 20% don't care, 79% glad you have them, 1% will try all they can to help you"

"A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down."
- Arnold H. Glasow

"An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind." - Buddha

"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."

To all my true friends who have been there for me at ridiculous hours of the night or just taking a call... Thank you. Your friendship means more to me than you will ever know.

Love,
Katelyn Elizabeth

Love Hurts

I wonder why I fall so hard. Some say because I have such a big heart. But I wonder... if I have a such a big heart why that gives guys permission to hurt it even more. I am ready to find someone who isn't a liar. who isn't a cheater. who isn't abusive. who isn't just plain awful. I want someone who will put up with my goofy car dancing, my off key singing, share my dreams, inspire me, challenge me, and be my other half. I am ready for true love... if it even exists. I just don't want to be tricked again and have my heart hurt.
I hope one day I can find that. Until then... I will always remember what my roommate, Lauren, always told me.. "I am a strong confident woman of God."

Happy Birthday Granmary

Today is my Granmary's Birthday. Usually I would call her around noon on October 20 but today I could not do that. My Granmary is up in heaven with Granarrel. I lost her last December and even 10 months later it still doesnt seem real that she is gone. I miss her so much. Every time I eat Cheese toast, 4 bowls, ice cream and cookie dough I always think of her. We had small traditions that I don't go a day without thinking about. This will be the first year I have not carved pumpkins with her, I wont be able to put her Christmas lights up on her porch this year, and I wont put the Angel I got her on top of her tree, and I can't watch our favorite shows together anymore. My life would not be the same without her. I have learned so much from her and she was such a beautiful person.
When I was little I would call her before school and ask her to make me waffles. She would watch me across the street and greet me at the door and the house would smell of delicious waffles and syrup. Even after school I would call her up and she would watch me across and I would go into my craft room and bring out the paints and paper and put it on the kitchen floor and paint a masterpiece (as good a 5 year old could paint) She is also the one who got me hooked on all the crime shows. We would sit and watch hours and hours of Diagnosis Murder, CSI, & Matlock. Spending time with her was like escaping reality. I would be there for hours and not even realize it.
There are so many memories I have with her and so glad she was in my life. I might miss her everyday but I have the memories to hold on to.
I miss you Granmary!!!
Eatin 4 bowls and Salsa... Obviously a favorite! :)

I loved walking across her porch. She would hold my hand and help me balance

Granarrel and Granmary :) This was about 2 years before Granarrel died. He was still in the kitchen and not in a hospital bed. That is how I remember him best.

Granarrel and Granmary when they got married. This was in the paper :)
She was always smiling :)

                                                      I loved giving Granarrel kisses!!

Google confuses me!... plus tests...

My password keeps changing on Google for some reason so I can never write posts because I keep having to go in and change it each time. So frustrating! Any way I have had a CRAZY 2 weeks. I have 4 tests this week and so far 3 down. Also got a grade on my STATS test and it was a... DRUM ROLL PLEASEEEEE... 94!!!! I am super excited! I thought I would barely pass Stats and now I have an A!

Modern Family and CSI started back up tonight. I have this tradition of watchin CSI with my really good friend Kristin. We watch from two separate states and we chat throughout the whole thing. We have done it for years and I can't imagine not doing it!

I need more time to blog later and hopefully I wont have to change my password next time!

off to CSI and dreamland!

My life is one big splatter painting

When I have bad days or just frustrating days I like to pull out my canvas, paint brushes, and easel and just paint. I love the peace it gives me and how I can look at a plain white canvas and create something amazing. It just does something to me that helps me relax and refocus. I always joke and say that some of my best creations come when I am frustrated or angry haha! My mom always makes fun of me cause I can spend so much money at Hobby Lobby. Walking in there is just amazing! I love it!!
Here are a few of my paintings :)

I will put more up when I keep finishing them :)
Painting just helps me relax and get everything back to normal.
I already went to work this morning and was back before 9am... I want to go to back to bed SOOO bad but I have a ton of laundry to do :( Off to clean and get ready for the day! and maybe paint a little :)

OH! Also, it is GAME DAY!!! OSU is playing Arizona tonight. I can't wait to go! Sammy and I went to get me a game day shirt... GO POKES!!! (thanks Mom! <3)

Off to cheer on my boys and clean my apartment!
GO POKES!

Back at the grind...

Well, a lot of things have changed in the past 10 days. I moved back to Stillwater, left Texas, got a job in Stillwater, survived a full week of my Senior year, and went through some pretty rough times, and some pretty wonderful times.

First drastic thing I did was delete Facebook. *insert gasps here* For those who know... Facebook probably consists about 23.5 hours of my day. ok not really but it does take a lot of time. It has been nice not having to go check it every five minutes and see what everybody else is up to. I will get it back when the time is right to be able to share photos and memories. But until then... Facebook free!

Now on to my job... I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job! It is taking care of a 9 year old boy who has down syndrome. He is so loving and an absolute doll. He calls me KK but when he says it it sounds like he is saying Cocoa. I have to be at his house by 7:15 am and I get him ready for school and then take him in the mornings. It is not easy getting up so early but once I see his shining face and that smile in the mornings it is totally worth it.

Classes are going well. Yes Mom, I really am attending all of them. :)  I am taking 13 hours. Physiology, Abnormal Psychology, Physical Disabilities, and Statistics. I am hoping to not make any C's but that Physiology class will be a tough one to crack!

hmmm what else to fill you in on?? OOHH So I watched the VMA's the other day and watching Adele perform made me fall even more in love with her than before! She is simply amazing. I love her voice, the soul behind it, and how I can relate to her songs. I love the calming effect her voice has.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDRwqTNLGDs&ob=av2n
She is coming to Texas October 21... Tickets are not too expensive. I REALLLLLY want to go. It would be so much fun. Maybe I can convince my mom to go with me... :) I also love this song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYEDA3JcQqw&NR=1

My parents come to visit next weekend Labor Day. I am excited. We are going to the football game, walmart (DUH!) and dinner and just have some family time. I also get to see the love of my life!! My little baby!  I cannot wait to see my puppy. I miss her cuddling with me at night so much!!

Well I am off to bed. This is one sleepy girl! I just wanted to update everyone on some small things in my life :)

I promise to blog more now that I am at a computer everyday. I miss it!!
off to dream land...

What is love?.... and People Watching?

At my job I have a lot of time to people watch. Lets just say this pool is full of interesting people. We have given them names to protect their identity... and as a way to clarify who they are through out the summers haha
We have:

  • Crazy Diving Board Lady: This lady, Bless her heart, cannot swim worth anything. My job as a swim instructor and coach requires me to perfect strokes.  All of the years of teaching and coaching have enabled me to just look at someone swimming and I am able to figure out how to make their stroke better. I have watched this lady swim every day for the past 6 summers and for the life of me I have NO idea how she stays afloat. The way she swims is so wrong I literally have no idea how she moves through the water. But the truth is she is there everyday and she loves to swim. I ask her "How far have you swam today?" and her response is always "I don't know... I just Swim" She always arrives 20 minutes early and asks if she can get in early. She is always eager to help get the pool ready for the day and asks to help set things out. This lady might be a little odd but she loves to swim and she lives for it.
  • Bow Lady: This lady (easily over 30) always wears huge bows in her hair. When I was little my mom used to put GIGANTIC bows in my hair. When I say Gigantic I really do mean gigantic! Well....This lady put my hair bows to shame!!!!! I so wish I could post a picture up of her bows because there are no words to describe how large this bow is! She loves those bows. She wears them every time she comes to the pool. I have no idea why she wears them but she wears them proudly!
  • Then there is Art. Precious Art. That really is his name. This man is 92 years old and swims a mile a day. His one and only love is his wife Evelyn. His love for her is exactly like the Notebook. I love the look in his eye when he talks about her. She is very sick and you can tell that he hurts knowing he is going to lose her soon. But the love he has for her is forever.
  • Watching the different types of moms is pretty interesting. We have the moms who are so over protective and have to be with their kids the entire time at the pool. then we have the moms who literally drop their kids off and don't show up till several hours later. Then we have the moms who let their children play but always stand a few steps behind them to make sure everything is ok. Seeing the different types of love a mother has for their child is so amazing.
We have several more interesting people at my pool but that would take hours to describe ;) Watching these people on a daily basis I really get to know them in ways they probably don't know themselves. You see the way they react to things, the way to talk to others, and they way the present themselves in such a laid back setting. Seeing how they love different things makes me see that LOVE really is everywhere and that makes me so happy!! It makes me think of these song lyrics..."Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you . Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense. Never let your prayin knees get lazy. And love like crazy"

I love the idea of love. No matter what kind of love. If its something you love to do, someone special you love (which I am a total romantic!), or just the ones in your life who you love. I just LOOOOVE the idea of LOVE!! <3

When I am up on stand I have tons of time to sit and think. I think of everything under the sun... literally! haha But one thing that I have been thinking about lately is just the people who are around me and support me and who love me for me. I am no perfect person but they accept me for who I am. Without them I would not be the person I am today. It amazes me to see how my life has changed just because of the love that people show me. All I can do is love you all back :) and I do! I love you all very much!!

No. INTERNET! :(

So we lost power a week ago for about 5 days... This caused our wireless internet to go out!! I haven't been able to skype, Facebook, YouTube or anything for a week!! And honestly.. It has been amazing. I have loved the break from cyberworld! (but take my phone or texting away and I'll hunt you down!)
I still don't have Internet so I'm just posting from my phone cause I have wanted to update or write something!

So here is a little recap...
1. I got thrown off a jetski and screwed up my neck (you can thank B for that one... I still love you bubba. Even if you are adopted)
2. I got super super sick and couldn't keep any food down because I was dehydrated. Basically I was working to hard... Surprise surprise
3. Lost a very dear family friend due to a tragic accident :(
4. Lost Internet due to crazy storms (which I LOVED by the way)
5. we gained a new dog for a couple weeks! B&C had to let us keep baby Roxy for a little while.
6. Went bowling... I still suck at that game.
7. Been a workaholic like usual!

So with everything going on I missed a few blogs! Hopefully Internet will be back up soon and I will post about my trip to the lost magical place in the world :)

Love love love

As much as I love my job (which is a TON!!!) I am glad I get a couple days off to catch my breath.

This weekend is gonna be a good one :) Tonight we are going to Concerts in the Garden. It is basically like a big picnic with music playing each night. Tonight is the Beach Boys music :)
I love it!! I grew up going to these every summer since I was born. I love going back each summer.... it is so relaxing and so much fun.
I love being home for the summer :)

Long time no see...

oh my goodness! It has been SOOO long since I have done a post. I have missed it a whole lot! I will start doing more and more I promise!
I have done so much in the past month....

  • Finished school (all A's and B's!)
  • Been to Disney World and had the TIME OF MY LIFE!
  • Been teaching private swim lessons
  • and being a workaholic like usual :)
Life has been pretty busy but I am loving it!!
A day for me is like this:
  1. wake up and teach a 9:00 lesson
  2. Teach lessons at 9:30, 10:00 and 10:30
  3. Go into work around 12 and while at work do scheduling, payroll, and many other things (dealing with an old pool usually keeps me busy!)
  4. then Group swim lessons start at 5:00. As the swim director this requires me to go around and  make sure each class is going properly and smoothly and the children are paying attention and the teachers are on track for the day.
  5. then at 5:45 I coach kids in swim team and help them perfect their strokes.
  6. then at 7:00 I teach water aerobics then I have another private lesson at 7:45
BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!! But I absolutely LOVE it! Loving your job make it easy to get up!
That schedule changes every week but its usually 8:00am to 8:00 pm of total pool work!

So... a couple weeks ago I went to Disney World for my 21st Birthday! I had SOO much fun! Seeing Mickey, Minnie, Goofy (aka DAD!) and all the other princesses just made me so happy!
My future home :)

Sequin Minnie Ears!!! LOVE!

SO much fun with Mommy in the Teacups!!

Action pic of Teacups!

Since Dad calls me Nemo because I am ALWAYS in the water it was just fitting that I took a picture with Nemo :)
I wish I could be a kid forever!!!!
My parents and I also rode the HULK over and over again :) I loooved having a fast pass and skipping all of the lines!!!!

I will write an entire blog over the trip at a later time :)

But this girl is sleepy! Been out in the sun all day and working like crazy!

Sunburnt and sleepy...

We are Family!

The past two weeks have been the hardest two weeks of my life! Literally… MY WHOLE LIFE .
I have never been so stressed as I have been then these last couple months. So much that I have made myself sick. But Thankfully things will slow down for the last 2 weeks of school. All I have left to do is one paper to write and one presentation to give then finals. I am so ready for a break. But all my stress need to be put away and I need to talk about this weekend. MY BROTHERS WEDDING! J  I am so freaking stoked that he is now a husband to the most amazing girl. She truly is his “one” and I know they will be together forever. Just like my parents, they show that they have true love between them. I absolutely love seeing them together. They make my heart smile!
Here are a few pictures of their wedding! I will post a link when the professional pictures are done J

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful… aside from my little mishap! I was a bridesmaid and I was standing so calm (not crying) and trying to look beautiful.. except I kept feeling something itch up my leg. (this was an outside wedding). I didn’t want to distract any attention from the bride so I tried to stick it out and not bend down and scratch it but kind of lightly stomp my 5in heel in the ground lol. Well that didn’t help. A few seconds later I noticed something was kind of hurting my leg… so I slowly bent down and kind of itched it. Apparently whatever was on my leg decided to get mad and bite harder and move UP my leg… ummm NOT OK! I still didn’t want any attention coming to me so I just tried to deal with it. Next thing I know Pop Pop (Caileys Grandfather) actually got out of his seat and came up to me and started hitting my leg.. right in the middle of the ceremony!! Apparently it was a huge spider!! AHHHH!!!  I am sooo glad I didn’t see it because I would of FLIPPED OUT! It would have been so embarrassing! Anyway that was the only thing that happened! No dress ripping, no falling down the aisle, no falling in those shoes! SUCCESS!

Another fun thing about the wedding was the had a candy bar that was full of candy and sweets J And right next to it there was a photo booth with fun props!  I will post some of those pictures below of those funny memories!

I was a dancing fool out there on the dance floor. HAHA! So many fun dances!! Like the Macarena, cupids shuffle, electric slide, Twist and Shout... TONS OF FUN!! Mom and dad got out there and danced, my cousins, my aunts, my moms best friend who I call aunt Kathy and Uncle Rick and their Nephew Eric (he is the one who was my buddy for all the crazy dances! SO much fun!) I loved being just so carefree and not having to worry about anything!
I loved seeing people that I haven’t seen in so long like Molly, Jenny, Jennifer, the Mannings, and so many more. It was an absolutely wonderful day and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect, Godly woman to marry my big brother. Their wedding day was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to one day walk down that aisle at my wedding… but don’t worry.. that wont be for  a VERRRRY long time ;)

And the best part about the whole night is I got to drive the bride and groom to the hotel! I got this awesome Choufeer hat and once they got in the car I put it on and said “Where to Mr and Mrs Barrett Green?”  They just looked at me and laughed so hard! Then we started quoting Dumb and Dumber quotes when Lloyd was driving Mary to the airport haha I love my family!!
This weekend was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better addition for my family! I love you Barrett and Cailey Green!
Now… time to go get my room clean and get everything ready to go for dead week! Only 2 more weeks left!

A tired bridesmaid,
KK

A Wonderful Break...

Spring Break has come to an end... a sad sad end. :(
I will have to say that this spring break was one of the best ones EVER!!!
I was able to spend time with my family, and I got to earn some $$$!!

On Friday I was able to spend the day with my mommy and have a spa day then go shoe shopping :)... i got a massage, a pedicure, 2 new pairs of high heels (black and the famous Red High Heels!) and my mommy also treated me to a new purse! Around 5:00 Tamara, Braden and Aaron got into town. We all went to dinner then went to a movie at the Movie Tavern. Then on Saturday we went to the Polo Tournament in Las Colinas. I separated from them for a couple hours and went out to Lake Lewisville and I got to spend time with my cousins, aunts and uncle :) It was great!! I loved seeing them! Then I met back up with the group and went to dinner and hung out with the OSU polo team for a while. We got back around 1:30. Everyone wanted to then watch a movie so we rented Social Network and didn't go to bed till 3:30! Then on Sunday I had to drive back :( I did not want to at all! I hate leaving the place that is so important to me.
Good thing is I will be back on Friday for Barrett and Cailey's wedding shower! I can't wait!

I also go to see several of my friends. I got to see Ashely and Kory Hicks and their one month old beautiful baby girl. And I also got to see Kristy Allen and her 6 month old baby girl! It was great seeing everybody I care about. I also got to go spend time with Ashley!!! She actually let me take her shopping! I WAS SHOCKED!!!!

All in All it was a wonderful week and a half.
now.,... The countdown until summer...... 46 days!
ANDDDD only 33 days till my big brother gets married!!!!

counting down the days...

My Best Friend

Do you have that one person in your life that is always there for you? Your best friend...

Well I have someone in my life who is more then my best friend. She is my sister, my best best best best friend, my amazing Ashley, my partner in crime.. ASHLEY DILLIN!!!!
basically... she is the bomb.com

I cannot explain our relationship to people. Seriously. We are so complete opposites! There is no logical reason or concrete evidence that we should be friends. But yet she is the only one who fully understands me.
Here are some examples: (yes, I am bring out the bullet points)

  • She is an English major (I am positive this grammar is killing her) -- I HATE ENGLISH with a fiery burning passion
  • She is a total gamer--- I do not play games. I do not even know how to turn an Xbox on. If I ever walked into a Game Stop they would all turn heads and say "WHY ARE YOU IN HERE?!"
  • I have a total obsession with shopping, make up, pink and all things girls-- She has absolutely NO interest in any of that. If she goes shopping its to buy her normal pair of jean and a few tank tops. Then she is a B- line for the door.
  • She is basically a total Bad A. Seriously.
  • She can read a book a day - I hate reading
  • She thinks sororities are stupid- I am in one.
  • Our difference of TV Shows. (except she got me addicted to House, M.D.)
  • She hates yappy/ small dogs. She likes the more manly dogs- I have a 6 pound Maltese puppy
  • She is a total tomboy- I am the more preppy girl
  • There are so many more and we will probably add to this list later!!
Now on to our similarities:
  • We both love horses
  • We both love summer
  • We both love swimming/ ocean/ any body of water
  • Oh and Dr Pepper
Seriously. Thats it. Thats all the similarities we have. I'm not joking.

But put us together and it is like my world is right. She always knows what to say when I am down or when I need advice. And advice on anything! Boys, school, life, ANYTHING! She is amazing.

Now how met is a pretty interesting story. Basically we were forced to be together-- not against our will but basically forced.
Heres the story....
Junior year of High School we both had the same Ag Class. We had already been to school with each other for 2 years (honestly I thought she was really weird  lol and I didn't put time in getting to know her) But we both had this Ag class. In the beginning of this class we didn't sit with each other. But we were assigned a project. We had to pick a partner. We both looked around the room and thought the same thing. "I don't want to sit next to that girl... She is really weird and I really don't want to work with her. I don't want to work with any of the guys at all... I guess that just leaves Ashley/ Katelyn" It was kind of just known that we would work together.(thats how it was forced... in a way) We both didn't complain about it, we just accepted it and started planning out topic. From then on.... our lives would never be the same (say that with dramatic effect) But seriously. From then on we were inseparable.

We can't call ourselves best friends because we are so much more then that. We are going to have to come up with some name for our friendship because Best Friends just doesn't even begin to cover the bases! And we can't begin to describe our relationship because it is so opposite and so different then most friendships.

Ashley knows me better then I know myself. She can tell what i'm thinking with me being in a different state! She is my absolute sanity when I need it the most. She has seen me in the good and the bad and she knows how to give me what I need when I need that advice. She tells me the truth and doesn't sugar coat it no matter how tough it is. I can always count on her to be my partner in crime. She is so protective of me that I know if I go anywhere with her she will be the one standing in between me and a huge biker dude (just an example!) saying she will knock the fire out of him if he comes any closer to me. And lets face it..... Ashley is a tiny little thing! I know that no matter what I do, she will always take care of me and be there for me. She will always have my back through anything- And I got hers!
This Picture totally sums that up...
In fact... The caption under this picture on facebook says this:
"i'll always be right behind her... ready to beat the crap out of anyone who messes with her"
So better watch out... she means it!

Even if we go for several days without talking we both know that it is OK and that wont hurt our relationship because we both know that no matter what we go through in our life we will always be best friends and we will be little old ladies having motorized cart races down our nursing home hallways. (and by the way mine will be hot pink and I guarantee hers will be blue or black)

This summer that is coming up will be an amazing one. Both of us have been so busy that we only saw each other only once over Christmas break and only once last summer. It is rather sad. But this summer will be totally different because all I will be doing is work and we will MAKE time to spend with each other.  This summer will be a blast and I can't wait for all the memories that we will make.
I LOVE YOU BEST FRIEND!!!!!

A trip to the Zoo... Sort of!

So today I was able to spend some time with a family very dear to my heart. The Baird's. For those who dont know... I have kind of been "adopted" in to several families. But this family is a more like a zoo :)
There are 7 Kids in this family... Randi, Collin, Sharla, Alex, Katelyn, Erin, and baby Ian. All of this kids hold a special place in my heart, as well as their special mother, Stephanie. Lets back up... Several years... to about my 7th grade year. I was about 12. Stephanie Baird was my math teacher. I had no idea that she would turn out to be such an amazing mentor and woman in my life. All through middle school and High School she tutored me in math and I would babysit her 4 oldest kids. I sort of became the "big sister" to Randi, Collin, Sharla, and Alex. Collin always told me he loved me but we had a totally separate relationship of big sister little brother. Our relationship was more of a "hey.. Don't tell anyone I said this but I really do love you!"
Collin left this world way to young and I miss him everyday. But I know God has a very important reason why he took Collin off this world at such a young age.  I will always cherish those memories of him hugging me, making chocolate cakes with him, and playing outside and bobbing for apples (some fun things we did when I babysat).. I love you Collin Joesph!! We loved him a lot... But God loved him more.
Going back to the rest of the zoo...

Randi, She is one of my mini me's... She is such an amazing artist!! I cant imagine life without her. She is such a wonderful girl and has an amazing future ahead of her!! I always try to be there for her when she needs me. She is such a strong young woman and I know that she can do whatever she sets her mind to. I am so proud to call her my little sister. I know I have big shoes to fill as her big sister!

Sharla and Alex crack me up. They are always full of energy and love to laugh. They make me smile just by looking at them.. they are always up to something!! This picture is of me and Alex. Randi was standing in too. Sharla was too busy shooting baskets to take one with me!

In 2006 they realized that she was pregnant with twin girls... They wanted to name one of them after me I was (still am!) honored that they wanted to name their child after me! July 31, 2007 Katelyn and Erin were born!! They are a handful but are absolutely amazing little girls. Its funny... every time... no matter how long its been or when I go from blonde to dark dark brown... Katelyn ALWAYS is attached to my hip and runs up to see me right when I get to the house. She is my little mini me! Erin just is such a goof ball... if we can keep clothes on her for an hour its a successful day! haha
Here is Katelyn... My mini me :)
Ian is in the back ground!

Then little Ian was born. Such a precious little boy. He is such a toot!! he will turn 2 soon... I dont know where the time has gone!!!

Now, Stephanie... She is such an amazing woman. Her faith is incredible and never failing. She always treats me like one of her own, always cares and always wants to know how I am doing even through everything she has been through the last 2 years. She never fails to show unconditional love. I love her more than words can describe. She is truly such a perfect example of supermom. I dont know how she does it!! With 7 kids I would be pulling my hair out!! But she somehow is a wonderful mother and a  freaking awesome teacher!!!!  I know her wonderful husband would agree with me on all of that!!
This is also blake... We both were Stephanie's Students... and now adopted children!
Erin in also in the picture!

I love you so much Baird's!! I can't wait to spend the summer with you all at the pool this summer!! I love and miss you more then words can describe!!!!

It makes me so happy.... that only lasted a couple days. :(
Although... I did have a drastic change done though...  DUN DUN DUN... NEW HAIR!!!

from blonde...
to DARK DARK BROWN!!!

Crazy change!!! its really growing on me. I am really starting to love it!!

Then I went out to the ranch friday night and stayed to sunday night. I was able to spend time with my wonderful daddy. We did tons of work!! basically me doing manual labor HAHA!
but I loved spending time with him. it was a wonderful start to my spring break.

a happy & rested girl,

I will not freak out....

It seems now that I am always on the run. Once Spring Break hits I will be working at the ranch, working for mom, and just work work work, but to be honest I can NOT wait to be back. I have been gone since January. I have never been that gone from home that long! But I am so excited to go home and WORK!!! I will be doing manual labor, paper work, errands, and anything my mom needs me to do. Along with working at my grandma's house and cleaning it up getting ready to sell :( (I sure do miss her)

I have so much to do before the semester is over. I have 6 papers to write, 2 speeches, a movie to make (I have NO idea how I am going to do that) and my brothers WEDDING! I just have so much to do!! I just have to remember to not freak out and to remain calm and to remember that I can do anything I set my mind to. Even though I am leaving on Wednesday to go home... I still have lots to do on Thursday and Friday. I will get it all done though.... patience patience patience...

My Boo :)

No this is not my boyfriend... this is one of my dear friend Liz Campbell! For some strange reason we always call each other "boo" I don't remember the reason! Maybe she does!
Anyway, she came into Stillwater and I was so glad I got to see her! I havent seen her in over a year and I miss her so much... What is really sad is she lives in Oklahoma City which is an hour away! So we said will make more time to see each other but school has been crazy for both of us and we haven't been able to see each other! She is an English teacher for 6th grade in the city and so she is there all day and she is even the cheerleading coach so I know it is drama central for her! So I am glad she got to escape and come to Stilly for the weekend :)

Love you Boo! So glad I got to see  you!
